The Monochrome is a small yet highly readable display with a high contrast that makes it perfect for various applications. With a diagonal size of about 1 inch, the display is made up of individual white OLEDs that can be turned on or off by the controller chip. Unlike other displays, this OLED does not require a backlight as it produces its own light, resulting in a higher contrast and crispness. The driver chip, SSD1306, supports multiple communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, and 8-bit parallel. The OLED requires a 3.3V power supply and logic levels for communication, making it versatile and easy to use.
